Privacy policy

Tenvy is a job-application assistant for iPhone and Mac, made by Zander Dent. There's nothing to buy in Tenvy; the AI it uses is billed by Anthropic through your own account. This policy covers Tenvy for iPhone (bring your own Anthropic API key) and Tenvy for Mac (runs on your own Claude Code).

The short version

  • There's no Tenvy account and no Tenvy server. We never receive your data.
  • Your résumé, the facts you confirm, your answers, your applications and your conversation with Tenvy are stored on your device.
  • To do its job, Tenvy sends information to Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, using your own Anthropic account: on iPhone through your API key, on Mac through your Claude Code sign-in. On iPhone, Tenvy asks for your agreement before anything is sent.
  • The job sites you apply to receive what you submit to them.

What Tenvy sends to Anthropic

What you type to Tenvy, your résumé text, the facts you confirmed (such as your name, email, phone, city and work authorization), the job listings and application pages Tenvy reads (including screenshots of them), your answers to application questions, and web searches Tenvy runs to suggest answers (such as looking up your public LinkedIn profile). Anthropic processes this to run Claude under Anthropic's privacy policy and terms, which govern how long it's kept and how it's protected. On iPhone, Anthropic bills your API account for this usage; on Mac, it counts toward your Claude plan. Tenvy doesn't pay for, see or resell it.

What stays on your device

Everything else: Tenvy's database (résumé copies, facts, saved answers, applications and their history, evidence screenshots, the conversation). On iPhone it's protected by iOS data protection and excluded from backups. On Mac, Claude Code also keeps its own history of Tenvy's sessions in your user folder (~/.claude/projects), and Tenvy's built-in browser keeps its cookies and site data, both on your Mac only. Your Anthropic API key is kept only in your iPhone's Keychain (on this iPhone only: never synced, and can't be restored to another device) and is sent only to Anthropic's API.

What Tenvy doesn't do

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash-reporting tools, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone other than Anthropic (for the AI) and the job sites you choose to apply to.

Your choices

  • Withdraw consent (iPhone): Settings → Privacy → Withdraw consent. Tenvy stops sending anything to Anthropic.
  • Remove your key (iPhone): Settings → Disconnect and delete key. To revoke it everywhere, also delete it in the Claude Console.
  • Delete everything: on iPhone, Settings → Delete all my Tenvy data removes Tenvy's database, files, your key and the in-app browser's saved logins from the device. On Mac, the ⋯ menu → Delete all my Tenvy data removes Tenvy's data folder, the built-in browser's data and the history Claude Code keeps for Tenvy. On iPhone, deleting the app also removes its data; on Mac, use Delete all my Tenvy data before moving the app to the Trash.
  • For anything Anthropic holds, see Anthropic's privacy policy.

Children

Tenvy is meant for adults looking for work and isn't directed at children.
