Privacy
This site measures how the pages are used, in aggregate. It does not try to work out who you are, and nothing it sends from this page identifies you. It is stored by Google Analytics, though, which does keep an identifier of its own, so this is aggregate rather than anonymous. The section below says exactly what that means.
What is measured
- Which sheet you reached
- The first time each sheet of the drawing set enters view.
- How far you scrolled
- Milestones at 25, 50, 75, 90 and 100 per cent.
- Time spent per sheet
- Counted only while the tab is visible and you are not idle.
- Where the pointer was
- Counted into a coarse 24×12 grid per sheet. Only the counts are kept.
- What was clicked
- By kind: a plate, a link, the sheet index. Never by its text or id.
- Clicks that hit nothing
- The most useful thing here: it shows what looks clickable and is not.
- Device class
- Desktop, mobile or tablet.
- How you arrived
- A class such as search, social or direct. Never the address you came from.
- Window size
- Rounded to the nearest layout breakpoint.
What is never measured
session recordings · your name · your email · anything you type · the text of the page you looked at · your exact window size · your IP address in this dataset · your cursor's path · keystrokes · clipboard · the address bar's query string
The pointer grid is worth explaining, because it sounds worse than it is. Your cursor position is rounded into one of 288 boxes on whichever sheet it is over, a counter for that box goes up by one, and the actual position is thrown away immediately. The page never holds a trail of where your mouse went, so there is no trail to store or leak.
Where it goes, and the honest caveat
Measurements are sent to Google Analytics, which is also what counts visits to this site. Google Analytics gives each browser a long-lived identifier of its own. So while nothing sent from this page identifies you, the result sits alongside that identifier, and it would be wrong to call the stored data anonymous. It's aggregate, and it isn't sold, shared or used for advertising: ad personalisation and Google signals are both switched off. But it isn't unlinkable, and saying otherwise would be false.
Visit counts also come from Vercel, the host, which is cookieless and does not identify visitors at all.
Turning it off
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, nothing is measured and you do not need to do anything. Otherwise this button stops it for this browser, permanently, and takes effect immediately.
